DESCRIPTION:<p>The filing period for federal, state and county offices opens Tuesday, May 19th at 8 a.m. and will continue to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2nd. &nbsp;</p><p>The place of filing for federal offices is the Office of the Secretary of State in St. Paul.&nbsp; The place of filing for state offices is with the Office of the Secretary of State or with the county auditor of the county in which the candidate resides.&nbsp; The place of filing for county offices is the Lyon County Auditor/Treasurer’s office on the second floor of the Government Center in Marshall.</p><p>In Lyon County, County Board of Commissioner seats in District 1, District 4, and District 5 are up for election in November. Those seats are currently filled by Charles Sanow, Gary Crowley, and Rick Anderson, respectively.</p><p>The filing period also includes Lyon County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor seats in districts 1, 3, 4 and 5 open. Those seats are currently filled by Gary Laleman, Mark Meulebroeck, John Lanoue, and Steve Prairie, respectively.</p><p>The filing period for cities, many schools, and various townships will be from July 28th through August 11th.</p>
